This has been heavy on my heart. Some people may not want to hear it, but it’s something that needs to be said.

•Being a Christian is more than just saying “I’m a Christian.”
•Some may say “yeah, I go to church.”
•Some may say “I love God.”

I would ask, Why do you call yourself a Christian? Have you surrendered yourself to God and asked Jesus to come live in you?
Have you put away your old self (lying, cussing, taking God’s name in vain, hate, stealing, etc)?

Have you come to the end of yourself and realized that you can’t move on in this world without having Jesus by your side. Have you become so broken that you cry out “Jesus! I can’t do this life without you! I need you!”.

•The Bible says in 1 John 1:9
[9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

•Now when we confess our sins and ask Jesus to come live in us and to cleanse us, does that mean we will never sin again? No, because of Adam & Eve’s disobedience in Genesis 3:6 sin entered the world. We will sin, even after we ask Jesus to come live in us. Only difference is now we have the Holy Spirit living in us and we will know when we’ve done God wrong, because the Holy Spirit gracefully lets us know “hey, you shouldn’t of done that.” That’s when we confess that we were wrong and ask God’s forgiveness.

•April of 2027 will be 30 years since I officially asked Jesus to come live in me. Has it been an easy road? Absolutely not. I’ve gone through so many trails, been through spiritual warfare more times than I can count, been in a desert of pain and suffering, and more. But God has always been faithful to bring me back to Himself. There have been times of being far from God. But He’s always waiting for me with open arms to welcome me back.

So I ask, are you a genuine true child of Gods or do you just throw around that you’re a Christian without actually giving yourself to him? Not everyone goes to heaven, and good works and just claiming you’re a Christian won’t get you there. But hell is a very real place. The choice is yours.
